I’ve known Judy since eighth grade. Moving to Salt Lake City, Utah was the hardest thing for a teenage girl but Judy and a couple of our other good friends made living in Utah one of the best and most memorable part of my younger years.
Although we currently live thousands of miles apart, we’ve managed to keep in touch and being able to document the beginning of a new chapter in her and Joshan’s life is a bit surreal and very exciting!
Judy and Joshan met in the emergency room 😀 As a resident physician who was caring for a patient with malaria (yep) she paged for a consult with an Infectious Disease specialist and Joshan comes walking in. A couple of months later he essentially became her boss and he asked her out on the first day of the rotation. Squeal!
Thanks to the happy couple who flew in from Utah to get their engagement photos taken by me and Hoami. I am super excited and honored to be able to photograph their Indian and Vietnamese/Chinese wedding in Utah next month. Henna tattoos and Bollywood dancing here we come!
A special shout out to Kelly from Kelly Tran Artistry for her hair and make up work!
Don’t you just loooove how Judy’s red dress popped against the sleek white walls of the observatory? It was such a treat to see their reaction when they got to the top of the park and saw the panoramic view of the entire city. Because Joshan loves the city life, we wanted to incorporate a modern backdrop into their engagement photos.
The second part to their engagement session was a visit to Santa Monica Pier. It wouldn’t be a true Southern California experience if we didn’t include a trip to the coast! I loved how their fun and loving personalities came out while playing at the beach.
